Headquartered in Long Beach, CA, Redbarn Pet Products, LLC (“Redbarn” or “the Company”) is a parent company that holds various manufacturing and distribution companies serving the pet industry. Redbarn is a family-owned and operated Company with private equity sponsorship.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position reports to the Vice President of Finance and is responsible for the oversight of day-to-day accounting activities for the consolidated entity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, costing, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and an affinity for problem-solving. 

This position is located near the Long Beach Airport in Long Beach, California. Remote work is not an option for this position. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in accordance with GAAP.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections. Monitor aging reports and address any discrepancies or issues.
• Oversee reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including daily bank account reconciliations. 
• Assist with design and implementation of improved processes and internal controls within the Accounting department. 
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts. 
• Manage the Company’s annual financial statement audit.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the VP Finance.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA designation.
• Top 10 accounting firm experience.
• Three to five years’ relevant experience required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling, with advanced Excel skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Combination of accounting firm and industry experience.
• Previous experience with SAP, Sage, or Crystal Reports.
• Knowledge of cost accounting.
• Experience with private equity sponsored company.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 20 lbs. as needed.
• Office setting with controlled temperature.
• Able to travel by air to manufacturing facilities, including internationally.
